1. About this portal
Comment Triage is a personal project run from a personal account. It is a tool for reviewing public social media comments, spotting cyber fraud, fake schemes, misinformation, impersonation and harassment, and helping people who ask for help. It is meant only for people who have been given an account.
2. Information handled
Public social media content
- Comments posted publicly on Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube pages that are being monitored.
- What the commenter's public profile shows: name, handle, public location, follower and post counts, and account age.
- Images or videos attached to the comment, and public likes, shares and views.
Only publicly visible content is used. Private messages and content that needs a login to see are not collected.
Accounts
- Name, designation, district, department, email, phone number and optional profile photo.
- Sign-in activity and active sessions.
Case records
- Tickets created from comments, with the department handling them, urgency, status and assigned person.
- Internal notes, public replies, and linked NCRP or FIR reference numbers.
- An activity log of who did what and when.
3. Why it is used
- To find comments that report or spread cyber crime, and act on them quickly.
- To guide people who report fraud, for example to the 1930 helpline and cybercrime.gov.in.
- To link a case to an NCRP complaint or FIR when one exists.
- To prepare summaries of trends by district and platform.
4. Automated classification
The portal suggests a department, urgency and summary for each comment automatically. These are suggestions only. A person reviews every ticket before any action is taken, and every public reply is written or approved by a person.
5. Who can see it
Information in the portal is seen only by people who have an account. It is not sold, and it is not used for advertising.
6. Browser storage
The portal stores a few things in your browser to work properly: your session, your settings such as a collapsed sidebar, and your user ID if you tick “Remember me”. It never stores your password. The portal does not use advertising cookies.
7. Questions
If you have a question about information in this portal, ask the person who gave you access.
To report cyber fraud, call the national helpline 1930 or file a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in.
8. Changes to this policy
This page will be updated when the way the portal handles information changes, along with the “Last updated” date at the top.
